From The Big Chair : The most frequent question (F.A.Q. – Frequently Asked Questions) that is asked of us is : “Can we take photos of gowns in your boutique?“. While we are happy that many of our clients have the courtesy of asking, we are appalled at the handful who tried to secretly take snap shots while “hiding” in our changing room! At PrettyInWhite, we strongly urge our clients to get “trigger happy” with their camera phones, compact cameras, DLSR’s or even to the point of bringing along their professional photographer(s). It’s our policy, in getting you to flaunt your gown, show off to your friends, family members, neighbours, colleagues and ex-boyfriends! We also encourage you to discuss it on blogger, wordpress, facebook, myspace, twitter, forums or even in your local neighborhood coffee shop or mamak stall, on how gorgeous our gowns made you look. More importantly, it hastens the process of getting the approval from your parents, in-laws, fiance (who was more preoccupied with the Premier League, so take that picture and hold him to ransom later), best friend, next door neighbour or even the fashion police! All of our clients have the privilege of taking photos of themselves wearing PrettyInWhite gowns whether you’re selecting, shortlisting, trying for fun or doing your final fitting. After all, it’s your big day and we understand that you have to look really good. Are we afraid of others copying our designs? Well, let’s just say that with the high quality materials & finest craftsmanship that we are using, it simply won’t look & feel like a PrettyInWhite gown.

It has been years since we have looked at our own website, but it was bound to happen as we were thoroughly amazed about our Preferred Partners sites. Needless to say our preferred partners are young and internet savvy, and so we decided to ask for their opinions. Unwittingly, we made a big mistake, cause everyone seemed to be telling us stuff that we couldn’t understand! As such, Stephanie our designer, suggested that we get some ‘underground’ assistance. What? It really sounded kind of shady to me; involving the preparation of exotic, hard to obtain food? Regardless, I left it to Stephanie who bought some really exotic food the next day, topped it off with a nice cutesy note; placing it near the closest outlet pipe we had. The next day, we discovered that we were overrun by one big furry rat …. called The Lab Ratz. In awe, I asked Stephanie if we were to talk to this rat … and she said, Yes! So we settled down and told The Lab Ratz that we wanted something simple yet manageable, something fresh and new, something like our preferred partner’s websites!!!! Gnawing on his food, The Lab Ratz said, “I think a simple CMS would be right for you”. We were like; what is that? Pleats, lace and fabrics are our game, not internet and technological jargon! The Lab Ratz said, “It’s short for Content Management System, where its like a sketch book you guys doodle on, and you can do almost anything with it. Just tell me how, when and where you want it, don’t fret about the other stuff,” while busy preening his whiskers. And as such, we are now heading down the path of our new website, for the cost of an exotic dish …. wow, and I thought they said that everyone has a price …. but Stephanie tells me it was because he was pleased with the food …..

Reminiscing : I received an interesting email a few months back, despite our numerous spam, however, this email was a little different, as the people writing this email seemed to be calling out for help. They were a small hotel here in Kuala Lumpur and were seeking assistance from people in the trade to assist in their community project. I was surprised that they were doing this for next to no monetary value, and as such this touched all of us at Pretty In White. In fact, we decided that it was our time to do our fair bit for the local community and so we decided to give them a chance and called them up ….. As such, we are very pleased to be The Heritage Station Hotel, Kuala Lumpur’s official partner for their pre wedding community events. We do hope that all the couples we have come into contact with has enjoyed their experience in our very own Pretty In White’s Wedding Gowns! We definitely look forward to the next event!

Many people would think that we should be appearing in publications like Female Brides, Bridal Guides, Vogue or even Harper’s Bazaar. That would be the most logical deduction to most of us in the wedding industry. So what are we doing in The Edge Malaysia, one of our very own leading Business News Publication? There are many individuals that perceive we are shielded from the global economic downturn, but you might be in for a surprise! This article gave us an opportunity to tell our story as it is, from a business perspective and hopefully we can make you understand a little about our industry, and how well shielded we are, if at all!
